Find your master socket

  • Your master socket is the main phone socket in your office - it’s usually a little larger than a normal phone socket and often has a horizontal line in the middle.
  • The type of master socket you have will determine whether or not you need to use microfilters:

Unplug everything from your master socket

Unplug everything from your master socket and all other sockets in your office, including:

  • Your phone cable
  • Any microfilters
  • Any splitters

Connect your microfilters

This step only applies if you have a standard master socket. If you've got a pre-filtered socket, you can skip to connecting your router.

  • Plug your microfilter into your master socket.
  • If you have a phone, plug the cable into the phone port on the microfilter.
  • It's important that you plug a microfilter into every socket you're using in your office. You can buy extra microfilters from any electronics shop.
  • Never plug microfilters into other microfilters. This will affect your broadband performance

Connect your router

If you have a standard master socket:

  • Connect one end of the grey broadband cable into the ADSL port on your microfilter.
  • Connect the other end of the broadband cable into the Broadband port on the back of your router.

If you have a pre-filtered master socket:

  • Connect one end of the grey broadband cable into your master socket.
  • Connect the other end of the broadband cable into the Broadband port on the back of your router.

Power up the router

  • Plug in the power supply at the wall and connect the other end to the back of the bOnline Router. Turn on the power.
  • Press the on/off switch found at the side of the bOnline Router.
  • Your line is activated when the Power, Broadband and Internet lights go solid green. This can take a few minutes.

Set up complete

  • Your router is now set up. You can now connect your wireless devices to your network.

For a wired connection

  • Connect one end of the yellow Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on your computer.
  • Connect the other end of the cable to one of the yellow LAN ports on the back of your router.
