Cookie Policy & Consent - bOnline customers

In recent years, the EU (European Union) has passed laws which require website owners to inform their visitors of cookies placed by the website, and receive their consent to use certain types of cookies.

If you are operating within the EU or subject to any EU states' laws, you may be also subject to such cookie-related requirements.

It is important that you verify which requirements specifically apply to your website, and make sure that you fully comply with them.

See below to learn more about adding and customising a Cookie Alert Pop-Up on your bOnline website.

There are two types of cookies (both used on bOnline sites):

Session (Transient) cookies: these cookies are erased when you close your browser, and do not collect information from your computer. They typically store information in the form of a session identification that does not personally identify the user.

Persistent (Permanent/Stored) cookies: these cookies are stored on your hard drive until they expire (i.e based on a set expiration date) or until you delete them. These cookies are used to collect identifying information about the user, such as Web surfing behavior or user preferences for a specific site.

Tip: There are many external tools such as browser extensions that can help you find and analyse the cookies being used on your site. We recommend Cookiebot to help you manage cookie consent, monitoring and control for your website.

Cookiebot is a simple solution that alerts visitors to your site’s use of cookies, as required in certain jurisdictions based on the cookies used and their purpose.

Why we recommend Cookiebot

Cookiebot displays a user friendly, no-nonsense dialog the first time a user visits your website - no matter what page the user first lands on. The configurable dialog informs the user about the use of cookies and asks for consent to set cookies on the user’s web browser, all with minimum impact on the overall user experience.

Cookiebot remembers the user’s choice for 12 months after which the banner will automatically pop up to renew the user's consent.

Cookiebot offers full support of the required prior consent so that only strictly necessary cookies are set before the user consents. Besides Explicit Consent Cookiebot also supports Active Consent which submits a consent automatically if the user navigates your website without answering the consent dialog.

The consent mechanism can be configured to comply with current regulations in all EU Member States. If you operate websites in multiple countries, you can set up a configuration for each country.
