Setting your caller ID preference in the desktop app

Modified on Tue, 04 Jun 2024 at 03:57 AM

You can set a caller ID to display when making outgoing calls. Caller ID preferences are stored separately on each device. It means there's no synchronisation between mobile, web and desktop applications, so you'll need to set these preferences on each device.

Choices are globally the same across a customer, except direct numbers that are based on the user:

  • Main number: Public number of the business, available to all users of a customer

  • Anonymous: Ability to make an anonymous call

  • Preset: Default option, which lets the system choose the caller ID based on outcalls’ rules

To set your caller ID:

  • From the main navigation, go to 'Settings'.

  • Click on 'Caller ID'.

  • Choose between the choices provided and click 'Set as default'.

Temporary caller ID lets you set your caller ID for a specific call they are making. This is useful in situations where a user wants to hide their real phone number or present a different phone number for a specific call.

To set a temporary default caller ID:

  • Before making your call, click the drop-down next to the dial button to select your caller ID.
