This article explains the lights and ports on your 4G ZTE MF296R router so you can understand what each indicator means and use your device effectively.

Indicator Lights

1. Power light

  • LED on: The router is on.
  • LED off: The router is off.

2. WiFi light

  • White solid: WiFi is active.
  • White blinking: WPS is active.
  • Off: WiFi is off.

3. Network signal light

  • Red: The device is in error status.
  • Blue solid: Connected to a 3G or 2G mobile network.
  • White solid: Connected to an LTE network.

Ports and Buttons

4. NFC area

  • Place your Android phone here to connect to the WiFi network without entering a password.

5. Micro-USB jack

  • For manufacturer use only.

6. Nano-SIM card slot

  • Insert your nano-SIM card here.

7. WPS button

  • Hold down for 2 to 3 seconds to activate WPS mode and connect devices without a password.

8. Power port

  • Connect to the power adapter here.

9. Phone port

  • Connect a telephone here.

10. LAN ports

  • WAN/LAN1: Connect to the WAN in cable broadband mode, or connect to a PC.
  • LAN2 to LAN4: Connect to a PC.

11. Reset button

  • With the router on, press and hold the reset button for approximately 3 seconds using a pointed object to restore the device to factory settings.

12. External antenna port

  • Connect external antennas here.
