As set out in our Terms & Conditions, bOnline applies an annual price increase each April. The way this increase is calculated depends on when your Commitment Period began.
Why does my price increase each April?
Our services are subject to an annual price adjustment, which forms part of your agreement with bOnline. The increase that applies to you depends on when your Commitment Period began:
Commitment Period before 16 January 2025
From April 2025, your Monthly Charge increases each April by CPI + 3.9%. CPI (Consumer Prices Index) is a measure of inflation.
This means the exact percentage increase can vary from year to year.
Commitment Period after 17 January 2025
Your Monthly Charge increases by a fixed amount each April, from your bill date.
The amount of the annual increase is communicated to you when you purchase your Service and is also set out in our Schedule of Charges.
This approach reflects annual adjustments to wholesale prices passed on to us by our suppliers.
How much will my monthly charge increase?
For customers whose Commitment Period is after 17 January 2025, the fixed increase applicable to your Service is the amount communicated when you purchased it and set out in our Schedule of Charges.
For example, the fixed annual increases for 2025 were:
VoIP plans: £1.50 per month
Broadband Services: £3.50 per month
The amount applicable in future years will be the amount communicated to you and set out in the Schedule of Charges.
When will I see the increase on my bill?
Annual price increases take effect each April.
For contracts subject to a fixed annual increase, the new Monthly Charge applies from your bill date in April.
Your bill will show your updated Monthly Charge.
Why does bOnline apply an annual increase?
Like other communications providers, bOnline relies on wholesale suppliers to provide parts of our broadband and telecommunications services.
Our suppliers make annual adjustments to their wholesale pricing, and our annual price adjustment reflects these changes.
Annual price increases are common across the telecommunications industry, including providers such as BT, Plusnet, XLN and TalkTalk.
Is the annual price increase part of my contract?
Yes. The annual price increase is included in bOnline's Terms & Conditions.
For contracts using the fixed annual increase, the amount is communicated to you when you purchase the Service and is set out in our Schedule of Charges. This means you can see the annual adjustment that applies to your Service when entering into your agreement.
Can I cancel my contract because of the annual price increase?
The annual April price increase forms part of the terms of your agreement with bOnline.
If you're within your Commitment Period and choose to cancel your Service, the normal terms relating to cancellation and any applicable early termination charges will therefore apply.
If you're considering cancelling or would like to understand the options available on your account, please contact us and we'll be happy to review them with you.
Where can I find the price increase that applies to me?
You can check:
the information provided when you purchased your Service;
your applicable Schedule of Charges; and
your bOnline Terms & Conditions.
