Managing User Access and Permissions for Telephony Services
Managing user access and permissions on your telephony services account ensures secure and efficient use of the platform. Below are guidelines for adding users and authorizing contacts on your account.
Adding a User for Calling Access
To provide someone, such as an assistant, with the ability to make and receive calls without exposing your billing or personal details, you need to add them as a separate user on the account. This process involves:
Creating a Separate Login: The new user will have their own login credentials, including an email and PIN, allowing them to use the service independently of your account credentials.
Understanding Costs: Each additional user incurs a per-user charge. Adding a new user will require paying for an additional subscription.- Single Payment Method with Multiple Users: While it is possible to consolidate billing under one direct debit, charges are calculated on a per-user or per-extension basis. This means that even if a single payment method is used, the subscription cost will reflect the number of users or extensions associated with the account.
It is not possible to grant calling access without either sharing your own login credentials or adding the individual as a separate, billable user.
Each user is entitled to access the service through one desktop app and one mobile app. It is not possible for multiple people to use the same login credentials on the mobile app, as only one device can be logged in at a time with the same credentials.
Authorizing Contacts to Speak on the Account
If you want to authorize someone to speak on your behalf regarding account-related matters, follow these steps:
Add the Contact to the Authorized List: Ensure the individual’s details are correctly listed in the authorized contacts section of your account profile.
Verify Information: Double-check that the contact’s information is accurate and up-to-date. This ensures they are recognized as authorized during support interactions.
Once listed correctly, the authorized contact will be able to speak on the account without issues.
Additional Considerations
Security: Avoid sharing your login credentials to maintain account security.- Login Restrictions: Each user can access the service through one desktop app and one mobile app, ensuring secure and individualized access.
Account Management: Regularly review and update user roles and permissions to ensure they align with your current needs.
By following these guidelines, you can effectively manage user access and permissions on your telephony services account, ensuring both security and functionality.
