How to set up a simple call flow

Modified on Mon, 16 Sep at 10:40 AM

Understand how to set up a simple call flow in your bOnline phone system to ensure smooth call routing for your business. Every inbound call to your bOnline phone main number is routed using a default call flow. This is the most common configuration used by bOnline phone businesses.

Using your business hours, calls are directed to ring all available users at once. Out of hours, a closed greeting will play and transfer the caller to the main number voicemail.

  • From the simple call flow editor, click 'Edit business hours'.

  • You can choose from a set of pre-configured business hours, or set your own. For this example, we'll set our own.

  • If you're setting your business hours, you have the option to add breaks during the day. To make things easier, we've given you the option to apply your configuration to multiple days at once. Click 'Save' when you're done.

  • After you have saved your business hours, it will display in the simple call flow.

  • Now, you will need to configure a 'Welcome greeting'. Toggle it on, then click 'Edit'.

  • Give your greeting a name, select a 'Male' or 'Female' voice, type out your message, and listen to it before clicking 'Save'. For more on creating greetings, read the 'How to create welcome and closed greetings' help article.

  • The same steps can be repeated for your closed greeting, but be sure to name it accordingly.

  • All the call flows you create, both simple and advanced, will be stored on the 'All call flows' section of the 'Call Flows' page. From here you can enable, edit, and delete call flows.
