What is a Call Flow?

Modified on Thu, 26 Mar at 5:56 AM

A call flow controls the path an incoming call takes through your bOnline phone system. It determines what a caller hears, which user or team the call reaches, and when -  based on your business hours and settings.

How Inbound Calls Are Routed

When a customer calls your business number, your call flow directs the call through a series of steps. First, the caller hears your welcome greeting. Based on your settings or the time of day, the call is then directed to the right team or user. If all users are busy, the caller can be placed in a queue with hold music until someone is available.

How Outbound Calls Work

When you make a call from your bOnline app or handset, the system confirms the number is valid, verifies your device is registered to your bOnline account, and then connects the call to the recipient.

Call Flow Components

Your call flow is made up of building blocks that you configure in MybOnline. These include your business hours, welcome and closed greetings, a dial menu for directing callers to the right team, a call queue for managing busy periods, call diverts for forwarding calls to another number, and voicemail for when no one is available to answer.
