Check the contents of your box

Make sure your box contains all the items shown below. If anything is missing, contact bOnline.

Step 1: Find your master socket

Your master socket is the main phone socket in your premises. It is usually larger than a standard phone socket and often has a horizontal line across the middle.

The type of master socket you have determines whether you need to use microfilters:

Step 2: Unplug everything from your master socket

Unplug everything from your master socket and all other sockets in your premises, including:

  • Phone cables
  • Microfilters
  • Splitters

Step 3: Connect your microfilters (standard master socket only)

If you have a pre-filtered master socket, skip this step and go to Step 4.

  1. Plug a microfilter into your master socket.
  2. If you have a phone, connect the phone cable to the phone port on the microfilter.
  3. Plug a microfilter into every other socket you are using in your premises. Additional microfilters can be purchased from any electronics retailer.
Please note: Never plug microfilters into other microfilters. This will affect your broadband performance.

Step 4: Connect your router

If you have a standard master socket:

  1. Connect one end of the grey broadband cable to the ADSL port on your microfilter.
  2. Connect the other end to the Broadband port on the back of your router.
