If your Yealink handset is acting up: frequent call drops, connectivity glitches, or just plain wonky behaviour, a factory reset might be just what it needs. Resetting restores the device to its original settings and can resolve most persistent issues.
This guide walks you through how to perform a factory reset on both Yealink W-Series (cordless) and T-Series (desk) phones.
Yealink W-Series (Cordless DECT Handsets — via Base Station)
Use this method if you're using a W70B or other Yealink DECT base station model.
Power Down the Unit
Unplug the power adapter from the back of the base station.
If you're using Power over Ethernet (PoE), unplug the network cable instead.
Wait for 15 Seconds
Let the device fully power down.
Initiate the Reset
While the base is still unplugged, press and hold the connect/pairing button on the front of the unit.
Power Back On (While Holding Button)
While continuing to hold the button, plug the power adapter or network cable back in.
Wait for Green Lights
Keep holding the connect button until all three LEDs turn solid green.
Release the Button
Once you see the solid green lights, release the button.
Final Reboot
Wait 5 minutes for the reset to complete.
Then, unplug the unit again for 15 seconds and plug it back in to reboot.
Yealink T-Series (Wired Desk Phones)
Resetting a Yealink T-series phone is even easier, no power cycling is needed.
Hold Down the ‘OK’ Button
Press and hold the OK button until the phone displays a prompt to reset.
Confirm the Prompt
Select Yes or Confirm on the reset prompt screen.
Enter PIN (If Required)
Default PINs are usually
0000
or1379
.
Access the Web Interface
After reset, you may need to log in to the phone’s web interface.
Find the phone’s IP address in the Settings menu, then enter it in your web browser.
