There are two main ways to factory reset Yealink devices: the "Hard" method (using the physical buttons) and the "Soft" method (using the Web interface).
1. The "Hard" Reset (Button Method)
This is the easiest way if you don't know the IP address or the admin password.
For T Series Desk Phones (T4x, T5x)
- Locate the OK button in the center of the directional pad.
- Press and hold the OK button for about 10 seconds.
- A prompt will appear on the screen asking: "Reset to factory setting?"
- Press OK (or the Yes softkey) to confirm.
- The phone will reboot. Do not unplug it during this process.
For W Series Base Stations (W60B, W70B)
- Locate the Paging button (the icon looks like a handset with radio waves) on the front of the base station.
- Unplug the power cord from the base.
- Press and hold the Paging button while plugging the power back in.
- Keep holding until all three LEDs (Power, Network, Handset) turn solid green.
- Release the button and wait for the base to reboot.
Note: You will need to re-pair your handsets after doing this.
For CP Series Conference Phones (CP960, CP965)
- Long-press the Home button or the Mute button (depending on the model) for 10 seconds.
- Alternatively, on the touchscreen, go to Settings -> Advanced (password is admin) -> Reset Config -> Reset to Factory Settings.
2. The "Soft" Reset (Web Interface Method)
Use this if you are already logged into the phone’s web portal on your computer.
- Log into the Web UI (default is admin/admin).
- Navigate to the Settings tab.
- Click on Upgrade in the left sidebar.
- Locate the section labeled Reset to Factory Settings.
- Click the Reset to Factory button.
3. If "admin" Password is Unknown
If the phone was previously managed by a provider, the default admin password might be changed.
- The Button Method usually bypasses the need for a password on desk phones.
- If the button method still asks for a password, it means the "Reset via Long Press" feature was disabled in the configuration file. In this rare case, you must contact the previous provider or try common default passwords like 0000, 1234, or the phone's MAC address.
Summary Table
| Series | Action | Hold Duration |
| T Series | Hold OK button | 10 Seconds |
| W Series | Hold Paging + Power Cycle | Until LEDs are solid |
| CP Series | Hold Mute or Home | 10 Seconds |
